Mass Spectrometry Laboratory (MS)

The Mass Spectrometry Laboratory provides a state-of-the-art infrastructure and expertise for proteomic, metabolomic and imaging mass spectrometry analyses for research and commercial partners. We specialize in method development for our partners and invite you to joint participation in research projects in cooperation with scientific institutions and industrial partners.

We offer identification and quantitative analysis of organic compounds in the areas of:

  • PROTEOMICS: „bottom up” peptide analysis for protein identification, posttranslational modification (PTMS) analysis: phosphorylation and glycosylation, protein quantitation (SRM/MRM), de novo protein identification, „top down” analysis of intact proteins
  • METABOLOMICS: profiling and identification of metabolites in clinical samples (serum, urine) and tissue material (MALDI imaging), analysis of low molecular weight substances
  • LIPIDOMICS: separation and identification of lipids and related compounds, profiling of cellular and membrane lipids of plant, animal and human origin
  • PHARMACOKINETICS:  DMPK analysis of drug metabolites, method development for identification of known drugs and novel compounds in food and cosmetics
  • MALDI imaging: identification and analysis of distribution of biological compounds in tissues

Dr Elżbieta Piątkowska obtained a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Manchester. She completed Postdoctoral Training in proteomics and mass spectrometry at the University of Manchester and Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Her research expertise focuses on oncoproteomics, metabolomics and mass spectrometry,  she also has an extensive expertise in molecular biology, genetics, genomics and protein biochemistry.

 

Dr Paweł Pasikowski- Research Engineer, obtained a PhD in chemistry from the University of Wroclaw and completed a Postdoctoral Training at the University of Pardubice in Czech Republic, he has a large experience  in peptide synthesis and proteomics and small molecule analysis. He is focused on method develipidomics and small molecule analysis

 

Dr Anna Czajkowska Mysłek, Research Engineer, obtained PhD in technical sciences at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences of Lodz University of Technology. She gained considerable experiences in analytical methods development, especially chromatography. She is interested in chromatographic techniques coupled with mass spectrometry used for development of novel diagnostic methods focused on amines, amino acids, and proteins analysis.
