Stefan Widomski, Polish Honorary Consul in Finland, on EAIF in the European Parliament

Stefan Widomski (first on the right in the photo), former VP at Nokia corporation, currently Polish Honorary Consul in Finland and Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ advisor, was a guest on “European Academia to Industry Forum (EAIF)”, organised by EIT+ in the European Parliament in Brussels.

During EAIF, that took place on 7th December, 2011 in the EP in Brussels, Consul Widomski led a panel discussion entitled “Academia and its role in European Innovation”. He talked about his experiences in creating innovations that he gained during his work for Nokia corporation.

Knowledge presented by such a reputable manager caught the interest of other discussion participants. Among them there were dr Dietmar Tourbier (Technology Leader GE Global Research), dr Horst J. Soboll (Chair of European Research Advisory Board) and Michel Judkiewicz (Secretary General of EIRMA).

Since 1972 Stefan Widomski worked for the Finnish Nokia corporation. He went through many levels in the company, finally reaching the position of a vice-president. He was a co-author of Nokia’s development who introduced the Finnish company into a group of the most technologically advanced companies in the world. Currently he is a  chief advisor in Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+.

Stefan Widomski was also engaged in development of commercial relations between Finland and Russia, and he received Order of the Lion of Finland, First Class, for his contribution in strengthening Finnish economy. His rich biography was adapted for the screen by Finnish TV, it was also described in a book.


Did you know ...
