The conference was also attended by representatives of Ministry of Economic Development, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and National Centre for Research and Development. Representatives of the largest Polish companies, such as Tauron or Lotos and local Wroclaw champions – Techland, KRUK, Rec Global, were also present. The City of Wroclaw was represented by Mayor Rafał Dutkiewicz and Deputy Mayor Maciej Bluj. When opening the conference, Rafał Dutkiewicz said that, thanks to municipal institutions, such as Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency, Wroclaw Technology Park and EIT+, Wroclaw may enter another level of development.
– In Wroclaw, we now have a situation where there’s no lack of work, as the unemployment rate is around 3,5% and is almost 10 percentage points lower than a decade ago – mentioned Mayor Dutkiewicz. – But now we need to move to another stage, a stage of looking for and creating better job positions. This is why we need start-ups and good innovative ideas.
