In January, 2015 EIT+ Wrocław Research Centre started the project “Detection of hydrogen sulphide laser systems for applications in the mining industry” under the program LEADER of National Centre for Research and Development.

AIM OF THE PROJECT
The main objective of the project is to investigate the possibility of detecting the concentration of hydrogen sulphide using laser technology, designed to work in the mining industry. The issue is significant because in recent years in many mines in Poland the presence of this highly toxic gas was determined at a level which constitutes a real threat to the employees. Within the project we also plan to create and test a prototype device that can detect dangerous concentrations of hydrogen sulphide remotely. These types of measurements can be carried out without direct contact with the gas, and can significantly increase the safety of people working in hazardous conditions of leakage of hydrogen sulphide.ł
