Permanent and simple protection against forgery is the market requirement due to the strong competition within a given economic sector. Additionally, colour marking could have some aesthetic benefits. However, the state of the art technology still suffers from many disadvantages, hampering its broad industrial application. Classic printing methods are usually impermanent and often require toxic materials. Therefore, there is still a need for a simple method of colour metal marking allowing to overcome those problems. Herein we present the invention regarding reliable and reproducible colour metal marking.
For the commercialization, we offer a one-step method of laser metal marking, as well as a method of modifying the system for conducting it. The solution offered is simple, effective and easy to implement at low-cost. Most importantly, it gives reproducible results when metal elements are placed at the incorrect distance from the lens of the system and/or when they are different in terms of their dimensions. Additionally, our solution allows the marking to become independent from the state of burn-in of the laser, aging processes, track of the beam becoming dirty or degradation/contamination of the external mirrors.
Our solution is unique in terms of reproducibility of results and low costs of implementation (it could be used to simply modify the existing systems). Moreover, the method of the invention could be used on non-regular surfaces, it does not cause any corrosion or damage to material being marked and the obtained results are UV-resistant.
