The Department of Nanotechnologies of the EIT+ Wrocław Research Centre deals with realisation of research on techniques and methods of the creation of different structures of nanometric sizes in order to obtain materials with new or better physical and chemical properties. The Institute is currently realizing a huge research programme entitled "The usage of nanotechnologies in modern materials’ – NanoMat".
It covers e.g. semi-conductive nanostructures for optoelectronics, microelectronics and sensorics, fibre-optic structures for applications in optical metrology and telecommunications, polymer and composite materials for electro-technique and bioengineering based on nanotechnologies, modern methods of power collection and processing, materials micro-processing technologies supported by laser or usage of sol-gel technologies for receiving nanomaterials for bio-sensorics, biology and health protection.
Technologies elaborated by the Department will be implemented in technologies companies and spin-off type companies contributing to the development of enterprise, a growth in recruitment and creation of a knowledge-based economy.
