Nanotechnological laboratories

Within the framework of the project of Lower Silesian Centre for Materials and Biomaterials a complex of research and measuring laboratories is founded intended for carrying out work on nanotechnology. The laboratories are equipped with technological lines, ensuring the possibility of carrying out complex research work in the areas of Material Engineering, Photonics and Power Storage. There are also Characterization and Measurement Laboratories founded which are equipped with modern appliances for electron microscopy, spectrometry, roentgenography or mechanical properties measurements. The laboratories will be located in reconstructed buildings 1, 7 and in newly-constructed building 9a. The area of the laboratories is circa 7 thousand m2. At present work on the laboratories executive projects are under completion.

Biomimetics imitates nature. In the BioMed project, intelligent forms of medicines are worked on which recognise sick cells; the operation of medicines is patterned on the rule of functioning of the viruses which recognise and then infect the cell.
