From the very beginning of the project, and later construction of the rooms of the Lower Silesian Centre of Materials and Biomaterials, special stress has been put on high quality and meeting international standards referring to the functioning of research, measuring and technological laboratories.
All the rooms will be air-conditioned, the floors will be washable and acid and base resistant. Gases will be supplied to laboratory tables, such as: air, vacuum and propane-butane. Organic substances, acids and bases will be stored in fire-proof cabinets intended for it. Smoke detectors and a shower will be installed in every laboratory to be used in case of emergency.
The laboratories will be equipped with a system of monitoring the number of people present in them as well as a system of controlled access. An additional element in the planned standard is the system of laboratories management which will manage information, laboratory logs, data, etc.
The BIO laboratories will be equipped according to BSL 1-2-3 standards (safety level with reference to biological threat) depending on the requirements for the given type of the laboratory.
The NANO laboratories – will be equipped with separate clean rooms, which will make it possible to carry out processes which require strictly controlled cleanliness, humidity and temperature conditions.
On the Pracze Campus, rooms necessary for scientific work such as seminar and conference rooms as well as convenient office rooms will be created.
