TEPSIE (The Theoretical, empirical and policy building Foundations for social innovation in Europe)

The exact value of the project: 266 900 euro.

TEPSIE is a project which will develop tools, methods and policies that will become part of the European Union strategy for the development of innovation-oriented society.

By social innovation project participants understand new ideas (products, services, models) that meet social needs and create new social relations and cooperation between different interest groups in society.

The development of social innovation will reinforce social attitudes among scientists, politicians and business people so that they can operate at various levels in a greater confidence in themselves.

Specific research tasks in which the EIT+ is involved include:


WP1 overview of social innovation systems (Overview of the system of social innovation).

Measurement of social innovation WP2 (Measuring social innovation).

Overcoming barriers to development of WP3 social innovation (Removing barriers to social innovation).

WP4 survey the development of systems of social innovation finasowania (Generating capital flows).

WP5 involve social actors in the process of creating social innovations (Engaging the public).

WP6 Identification of social innovation evaluation tools (Knowing what works).

WP7 provide theoretical and empirical knowledge about the development of social innovation (Growing what works).

WP8 use information networks to the development of social innovation (Using online networks to maximum effect).

WP9 Dissemination of results and recommendations of the project (Dissemination of Findings and recommendations).

Did you know ...

Biomimetics imitates nature. In the BioMed project, intelligent forms of medicines are worked on which recognise sick cells; the operation of medicines is patterned on the rule of functioning of the viruses which recognise and then infect the cell.
