|
We are pleased to announce that Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ started cooperation with the American University of Louisville (UoL). Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Professor Miroslaw Miller, President of the EIT+ Management Board, and Professor James Ramsey, UofL’s President, on 9th January 2012 in Louisville.
Cooperation agreement between EIT+ and the University of Louisville provides implementation of joint projects in research on polymers, bio- and nanotechnology, as well as developing innovative methods of treating cancer and diseases associated with ageing.
Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ and Nucleus, a UofL Foundation initiative, implement similar projects. In addition to the areas mentioned above, both institutions are also involved in development of innovative spin-off companies. They are also building modern research centres - EIT+ is constantly modernising Pracze Campus in Wroclaw (modern, well-equipped laboratories are currently being built), and the University of Louisville is investing in the Nucleus Innovation Park located on the outskirts of the city.
As it was pointed out by Professor Miller, thanks to the common experience and a similar mission, both institutions will be able to exchange know-how and learn from each other. By working together and using the American partner’s experiences, Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ will be able to promote development of innovative economy on the scale of Poland and Europe more successfully.
