The Organising Committee had a great pleasure to organise

„The International Symposium on SCIENCE and DEVELOPMENT -
European Research on the Move"

co-organised by the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities, UNESCO, Polish Academy of Sciences, Wroclaw University and Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+ under the patronage of the Mayor of Wroclaw, Dr. Rafał Dutkiewicz.

The Symposium took place in Wroclaw on 4-5 September 2009 at the premises of Wroclaw University.

The Symposium was devoted to a debate on expected changes in science organisation and financing, mutual relationship between national and international research policies, the issue of modern scientific research infrastructures in Europe and institutions at which research takes place, particularly universities. Also the interplay between basic science and technological innovations, as well as potential applications were discussed.
